It’s another Wednesday and I have something in the store for you again. I have short but sweet sneak peek from the wedding of Russell and Sami I did just recently here in Clonmel. Full wedding shall be coming soon. Hopefully next Wednesday:)

Time is flying, it’s another Wednesday, thus time for another blog post from me. Today I have more eye candy for you, in form of another stunning wedding.

Ruth and Jay (head over here to see their super cute engagement session) chose to get married in Co. Cork, and had their ceremony in Shanagarry Church which was only 5 minutes away from their reception venue, the beautiful Garryvoe Hotel, overlooking the sea in Garryvoe. Despite the crazy weather we had a few days before, and a few showers there was in the morning, the weather decided to stay on our side and we had an amazing sunny day.

But let’s start from the beginning. Ruth decided to get ready in Kilmahon House in Shanagarry, so that way she was just a tiny bit from the church. Kilmahon is an amazing house and I had plenty of great spots to take the photos of all the details and also managed to do few bridal portraits with Ruth. Just wished we had more time to spend around there and take a few more portraits because both the inside and the outside of Kilmahon House are amazing. Ruth chose to wear an amazing Provonias wedding dress, complemented with sparkly high heels (which looked exactly like the famous Jimmy Choo’s) and an absolutely perfect….. wait for it….. (yeah I do watch “How I met your mother”:)) headpiece with a birdcage veil, handmade by her mum and Ruth herself ….. When Ruth showed it to me, my excitement for the day probably doubled…. I LOVE LOVE LOVE birdcage veils:) They are OH so elegant and beautiful and pretty and …. well you got the point:) And then she said that her Mum and her made it, I was in awe. It was perfect. I think we might have a new Irish headpieces supplier on the horizon, what do you think? After the ceremony the ladies decided to alter it a little bit and just basically chopped off (well more like cut extremely carefully:)) the veil part of it. Unfortunately I came too late to stop this from happening before we did the couple’s portraits and I have to say when I saw the veil half way cut off and another half still hanging, my heart died a bit:) But when I look at the couple’s portraits I think it looks really amazing even without the veil on it, what do you reckon? Oh and btw how amazing are the flowers? I especially fell in love with the bridesmaids bouquets. So colourful, so full of life, so different… you immediately feel happier when you see them, don’t you?

Anyhow moving on, after the best of the best church ceremonies with the highest amount of laughter and giggles I’ve ever been to so far (huge thanks to Ft. Joe Power for this, seriously Google him out or find him through some other sources if you are looking for something different for your ceremony, he was more like a stand up comedian, seriously good, yet still doing all the things he had to do, as Jay said in his speeches: “Huge thanks to Ft. Joe, he’s a legend!!!:)) we moved to a nearby park to get all the family and the bridal party group shots done (how cool are the LEGO CUFFLINKS?!?!?!?) and then I stole the couple for few minutes to take few photos of them in a pretty cool spot right behind the church which I found when I was scouting the locations few weeks prior to their wedding. Then we all moved to the beautiful Garryvoe Hotel, just down the road from Shanagarry.

After taking few candid shots of the guests and once the guests were called in for dinner, Ruth and Jay wanted to take a few more photos on the beach just few minutes away from the hotel. I asked them twice if they really want to go all the way to the beach, because I had few spots I could use around the hotel and would work just as well, but the guys were determined to go to the beach as it was one of the reasons they have chosen the hotel in the first place. So we walked towards the beach and of course once we got there …. wait for it….. the sea was probably at its highest tide as there was no beach left at all:/ Luckily the guys didn’t let this little hiccup spoil their mood, so we took few photos with the sea in the background and then few more absolutely amazing portraits with gorgeous light on our way back to the hotel.

I’d better wrap up, as this already looks like quite a lot of scribbling done.

Ruth and Jay, THANK YOU soooo much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer and sharing one of your most important day of your lives with me and my camera:) I’ve had an amazing time with you both on your engagement session and your wedding day. I wish you the best in your future together and may your laughter and the giggles never stop:)

How are you all doing? Are you ready for the weekend? Any plans?

Just before setting you off for the weekend ahead of us I thought I will share some more eye candy with you, so you have a (hopefully) great start of the weekend!

Today I can finally share the first of my 2012 weddings, the beautiful couple Brid and Dan. Brid and Dan had two weddings,the first time in Australia where Dan comes from, so they could celebrate with his family and their friends over there and then they flew to Ireland to get a blessing in Ballycahill Church and celebrate with Brid’s family and friends in the simply perfect Step House Hotel in Borris, Co. Carlow.

As Brid already had a wedding in Australia, she just brought her dress and shoes with her, got flowers done by a family friend, the cake was baked by family members and as they wanted to keep things really simple, and just be able to enjoy the presence of their friends and families after not seeing many of them for a long time, they decided to stay away from any band or dj. Have I even mentioned before that I really enjoy doing small intimate weddings? This one was not any different!

Brid and Dan, THANK YOU! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your “second” Big Day, I had a fantastic time with you despite all the rain, sleet, hailstones, but thankfully also a bit of sunshine here and there:) I know for sure that back in Australia the sun will shine for you more often, so let me just wish you all the best in your future together!!!

Dan and Brid are one of the very few couples with whom I didn’t do the engagement session before their wedding day, mainly because there was really no time to do it, as they flew in only a couple of days prior to their wedding, and they still had a few things to arrange and also they already did one wedding before together, so they thought they will not need it. And looking through the photos of the day, I think they did a great job, wouldn’t you agree?

I am back again! Did you miss me? I missed you. I hope you had a great week and everything is going great for you!

Let’s dive right into it and see what I’ve got in store for you today. I have a beautiful wedding waiting to be blogged, but I want to wait till I get the suppliers details back from my bride, so today I will share yet another gorgeous (yeah I used gorgeous again, what can you do) engagement session I shot only a few days ago with beautiful Sami and Russell.

Sami and Russell live in Australia but arrived to Ireland last Thursday to get married this Friday here in the Clonmel Park Hotel. Before Monday I only talked to Sami twice via Skype, but after a few minutes into our first call I knew that we would get along. I think if she was living in Clonmel, we would probably be BFFs:) As the guys only met in Australia they didn’t really have any meaningful places for our engagement session in mind, so I did some thinking and came up with a few ideas, to which Sami and Russell happily agreed. I was in for a treat!:) The last hour before we met, I was soooo excited, like a child on a Christmas Eve:)

Luckily for us, the rain stayed away, we got some gorgeous light and I got me a lot of flare which I loooove, so it almost felt like heaven:)

At the end of our shoot I did try a few invites from Beloved (more on this soon) and the guys were awesome!!! It is a slightly different twist to the shoot, so I need to practice a bit before I will start offering this to my clients, but I promise it won’t be long:)

Russell and Sami you were amazing!!! Can’t wait to see you again on Friday and be part of your wedding day!
